7 Card Stud
7 Card Stud is a very popular game. However, it is very complicated. This is a game for more experienced players and those who have developed a poker strategy. Players are dealt three cards; two of them are dealt face down. These are called the cards in the “hole”. The player with the lowest ranking up card must place the opening bet. Each player folds, calls or raises the bet. In the next round, the player with the highest hand showing begins the betting. Then each player gets three cards face up – a betting round follows each card dealt to the group. The final card is dealt face down before the final round of betting. Players create their best hand of five out of their seven cards.

5 Card Stud
5 Card Stud is another popular form of poker. However, you won’t find this form of poker played in casinos or serious card games. It is played very much like seven card stud, except that players only receive five cards.

Texas Hold’em
Texas Holdem, is today’s most popular poker game. Most of the big tournaments play this form of poker. Texas Hold'em has three variations: Limit, No Limit, and Pot Limit.

Each player is dealt two cards face down that are theirs alone. The first round of betting follows. Play goes clockwise where players make their first “blind” bet.

Three cards are dealt face up in the middle of the table. This is called the flop. A new round of betting begins. Then another card is dealt face up, called the turn. There is another round of betting and the final card, called the river is dealt. The flop, turn and river are all community cards. The remaining players create the best five card hand they can using any combination of their cards in the hole and the community cards during the showdown. The highest hand that could be created wins the pot.
